The flagship TIGGO9 CSH underwent rigorous tests across Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE. These tests—comprising high-salinity seawater immersion, sand burial in extreme heat desert, and a runway sprint against a jet aircraft—served to comprehensively validate the vehicle’s battery endurance and overall performance under extreme conditions. After the tests, two brand-new TIGGO9 CSH vehicles embarked on a nearly 800-km cross-border endurance test from Kuwait and the UAE to Qatar. This long-distance test provided further validation of their range capability and all-terrain adaptability, completing the full verification chain from “extreme testing” to “everyday reliability.”
Triple Extreme Scenarios across Land, Sea, and Air: Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) Technology Confronts Harsh Environments
At Qatar’s West Bay, TIGGO9 CSH’s battery pack was submerged in a tank of simulated high-salinity, high-temperature seawater, with water temperature reaching approximately 60°C and water pressure as high as 30 kg. This rigorous test assessed the housing’s sealing integrity and the stability of electrical connectors under highly corrosive conditions. The battery withstood immersion for over 48 hours, with no signs of leakage, short circuit, or thermal runaway. Moreover, upon reinstallation, the vehicle started on the first attempt and demonstrated a state of zero abnormalities.
As the inaugural “extreme heat” trial in Chery’s global six-dimension safety challenge—covering heat, cold, dryness, humidity, high speed, and rough roads—Kuwait’s scorching dunes served as a natural high-temperature laboratory, with sand temperatures exceeding 70°C. The battery was buried under 2 meters of sand for 48 hours, during which it exhibited no abnormal temperature fluctuations. Its thermal management system consistently provided effective cooling and prevented thermal runaway, even under extreme heat, dryness, and heavy sand exposure. Following the burial test, specialists thoroughly re-examined the battery and confirmed its safety before reinstalling it into the vehicle. Upon restart, TIGGO9 CSH responded immediately, delivering stable power output and fully functional performance. This successful outcome once again validated the reliability of CSH battery.
At the SkyDrive Airport in the UAE, TIGGO9 CSH went head-to-head with a jet aircraft in a standing-start acceleration challenge. In the 400-meter straight-line sprint, leveraging an instant torque output of 350 N·m from its electric motor, TIGGO9 CSH gained an immediate advantage with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 4.26 seconds. It ultimately crossed the finish line with a commanding lead, fully demonstrating the powertrain’s instant response capability and stable sustained high-power output.
These three challenges formed an extreme testing matrix covering corrosion resistance, thermal endurance, and power performance—tailored specifically to the Middle East’s demanding climate of extreme heat, dryness, and frequent sandstorms. The Nearly 800-km CSH Endurance Test: Users Witness Real-World Range and Reliability
Following the completion of the extreme scenario tests, the “Endless Horizon Worry-Free Voyage” endurance test was officially launched, with two routes spanning from Kuwait and the UAE to Qatar. Throughout the journey, the motorcade traversed scorching deserts and vast uninhabited areas. The event brought together leading local media representatives, professional automotive reviewers, and key opinion consumers (KOCs), who documented in real time the vehicles’ energy efficiency during sustained high-speed driving, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) performance, and overall range data.
The motorcade successfully concluded its journey at Qatar’s iconic Torch Tower after crossing vast desert landscapes. TIGGO9 CSH completed the 783-kilometer route from Kuwait to Qatar in 8 hours and 16 minutes, maintaining an average speed of nearly 95 km/h and showcasing its strong, sustained power delivery. Meanwhile, the vehicle finished the 691-kilometer stretch from the UAE to Qatar in just 7 hours and 12 minutes, further validating its high-speed energy efficiency. Throughout the endurance test, TIGGO9 CSH achieved an outstanding combined fuel consumption of only 5.5 L/100 km, delivering strong acceleration and smooth power output. In terms of cabin comfort, even at a highway speed of 120 km/h, the interior remained as quiet as a library, with noise levels consistently measured below 53 decibels.
These impressive real-world performances not only validated the well-rounded strengths of CSH—including low fuel consumption, high performance, and superior quiet operation—but also gave participating media and users first-hand experience of TIGGO9 CSH’s reliable quality across diverse climates and varied road conditions.

The champion driver in the endurance test shared his personal insights, detailing TIGGO9 CSH’s consistent performance under extreme conditions and its embodiment of green mobility principles.
